Soriano, Herbig, Hernandez – The Clear Choice on Education

In 2020, I ran for a seat on the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education. Although I was not elected, I still care deeply about the school district, and I firmly believe that Mayor Michael Soriano, and Cori Herbig, and Judy Hernandez for Town Council are the best choice to support the school administrators, staff, and students in Parsippany. All three are persons of excellent character. They are passionate about their work, and they are committed to serving the residents of Parsippany.

Parsippany is a richly diverse community, and our schools reflect that. Mayor Soriano, Cori Herbig, and Judy Hernandez have consistently demonstrated their willingness and ability to work with people of diverse viewpoints, whether those viewpoints be cultural, political, or otherwise.

Many residents are not aware that 64% of our municipal taxes go directly to the school district and are overseen by the Board of Education, while only 22% goes directly to the township. Given that fact, it is critically important to elect leaders who will work with the Board of Education to make sure our tax dollars are spent responsibly and that the Township and Board of Education are working in partnership to maximize efficiency. Mayor Soriano has already demonstrated his ability to do so through his support for the School Resource Officer program, and pressing for a fair distribution of funding for the program between the town and the Board of Education.

Cori Herbig currently has two young children in the Parsippany schools, and she has extensive experience and expertise on school safety from her time working at Everytown for Gun Safety. Judy Hernandez raised two children in Parsippany, and spent years volunteering with the PTA and other school programs to help make sure our students had everything they needed. She is also on the board of the Parsippany Child Day Care Center.

Perhaps most telling is the fact that Mayor Soriano, Cori Herbig, and Judy Hernandez all received the endorsement of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Education Association, despite the fact that one of their challenges for Town Council is the incumbent President of the Board of Education.

Soriano, Herbig, and Hernandez give back, actively engaging in making the Parsippany community better. Whether you’re voting by mail, early, or on November 2nd, I urge you to join me in casting your vote for Soriano, Herbig, and Hernandez for Parsippany.
