Still Too Close to Count 11/ 2023 Election

Working the Polls for Districts 33 and 34 on November 7, some strange things were noticed. In Lake Hiawatha, Voting districts had been change. Voters who formally voted in the Rockaway Neck area, were changed to district 34 in Hiawatha. No notice was given other then the Election Papers issued to registered voters with the district change. How many noticed, or were possibly discouraged when reaching their former voting poll station?

Several residents alleged their mail-in ballots were never sent, and had to do provisional ballots.

One Resident Couple from the same address, husband and wife, had to vote in two-separate districts.

As the norm; turnout was low as compared to the number of registered voters, at least in Districts 33 & 34.

Were other districts changed, and were poll workers issuing the proper number of provisional ballots for the mailin? Hopefully s0. How many Poll Stations had only one-party poll-workers; this could possibly allow provisionals not to be issued, as was a past practice witnessed before these new machines.

It is virtually impossible to cheat at the polls; cheating takes places by gerrymandering, voter roll elimination, and poll station districts being taken away, which is common in some States.

Is it not policy or law to have notified voters their districts had changed before the issuing of the sample ballots, at least by the local media? If voting really was as sacred as some allege, why do we not have the day-off, as several countries do, and lastly if a certain percentage of the registered voters do not vote there can be no mandate for elections to count as legitimate.

Low Turnout as an American Norm. We the People missing in action.

Most democratic governments consider participating in national elections a right of citizenship. Some consider that participation at elections is also a citizen's civic responsibility. In some countries, where voting is considered a duty, voting at elections has been made compulsory and has been regulated in the national constitutions and electoral laws. Some countries go as far as to impose sanctions on non-voters.

Advocates of compulsory voting argue that decisions made by democratically elected governments are more legitimate when higher proportions of the population participate. They argue further that voting, voluntarily or otherwise, has an educational effect upon the citizens. Political parties can derive financial benefits from compulsory voting, since they do not have to spend resources convincing the electorate that it should in general turn out to vote. Lastly, if democracy is government by the people, presumably this includes all people, then it is every citizen's responsibility to elect their representatives.

This is the illogical argument opposed to compulsory voting in the USA

Remember like all things freedom can also be a negative-force especially in a nation where money campaign donations are considered free speech, and dark monies reign. There is always the dangers of ignorant popular sovereignty; which dark money can encourage for the advancement of corporate power over government as intended.

We seems to have substituted the pursuit of happiness (for the individual) for the pursuit of the common good. It's bad enough we are limited to two-parties both representing capital and property overall; and that is our limited choice, or one throws the vote away.

Would not a deserved common-good be health care including dental, from the taxes we pay already on the federal level? Instead we are taxed for war as economy, and corporate subsidies, the same corporations that demise our democracy, and are now endangering life on earth, by their failure to change, such as the fossil fuel giants, and their CEO's profits, which places them above and beyond any economy.
