• Local WWII Veteran Celebrates 101st Birthday (connectionnewspapers.com) — Perth Amboy plays a meaningful role in this WWII veteran's story, as Romuald "Rom" Lipinski and his wife first settled there after immigrating to America in 1953 while he continued his engineering studies. Now turning 101 in Virginia, he's celebrated for surviving Siberia, fighting at Monte Cassino, building a distinguished engineering career, and remaining a lifelong learner and mentor to younger students.
   

• Greater Middlesex Conference releases new alignments for 2027 baseball season with few changes (cjsportsradio.com) — Perth Amboy High's baseball team will remain in the GMC White Division for 2027, grouped with Colonia, Middlesex, Metuchen, Sayreville, South Brunswick, and Spotswood. The Greater Middlesex Conference made only a few alignment changes overall, mainly shifting JFK, Piscataway Magnet, East Brunswick Magnet, and New Brunswick to new divisions while keeping most familiar rivalries intact.
