He replaces Athan Kaliakmanis, who revitalized Rutgers' passing attack before heading to the NFL, as the Scarlet Knights gear up for their Sept. 3 home opener at SHI Stadium. 
• Piscataway man charged in Route 22 hit-and-run death (mycentraljersey.com) — A Piscataway resident has been charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that killed a Brooklyn pedestrian on Route 22 in Watchung early Saturday, with Piscataway police assisting the investigation. Prosecutors say a damaged SUV was found at the man's home, and the case remains open while crash reconstruction and autopsy results are completed. Authorities are still asking the public for confidential tips.
• Franklin motorcyclist killed in Bridgewater crash at busy intersection (mycentraljersey.com) — Piscataway readers should know Bridgewater's busy Finderne Avenue has now seen two fatal crashes this summer, including one in June that killed a Piscataway man and injured four others. The latest incident claimed the life of a Franklin motorcyclist Sunday, and Bridgewater police are still investigating and asking witnesses to come forward.
