The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for New Jersey as severe, damaging thunderstorms are expected. A flash flood warning also has been issued for much of the state.
The NWS says the thunderstorms are expected to arrive Monday afternoon and evening and will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts.

AccuWeather says steamy air surging into the northeastern United States will cause the risk for flooding downpours and severe thunderstorms to ramp up into Monday. In addition to damaging winds, there can be an isolated tornado and a few hail reports, according to AccuWeather.

While the initial line of thunderstorms can produce damaging winds, additional downpours may follow and repeat over the same areas into Monday night, according to AccuWeather. Things should clear up by Tuesday afternoon.
