Local officials asked people to stay away from the area early Tuesday.

The Asbury Park Press showed a video where police vehicles were parked along both sides of Barnegat Lane in the seaside borough.

Mantoloking, which is located south of Bay Head, is not known for its crime. It's known more for its million-dollar homes that stretch along the waterfront off Route 35.

Much of the borough was damaged and even destroyed by Superstorm Sandy, but Mantoloking has largely rebuilt itself.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Sheriff's Office declined to provide additional information to Patch.

This is a developing story. Patch will have information as it comes in.
