1 Dead, 13 Injured In Crash On I-295 In Mercer County Wednesday
Four people were ejected from the van, which had 14 people inside. The right and centre lanes of I-295 were closed for five hours.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — One person died and 13 others were injured in a single-vehicle crash that happened Wednesday afternoon in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, New Jersey State Police said.
On Wednesday, around 3:21 p.m., a Ford Econoline vine travelling north near MP 59 in Hamilton Township went off the road to the right and strict the guardrail, police said. The van then reentered the road and overturned. Four of the 14 occupants were ejected, one occupant died, two sustained serious injuries, and the remaining passengers sustained minor injuries, NJSP said.
The 33-year-old driver, Silvestre Diaz, of Camden, passenger, Daniel Del Carmen Marmol Batista, 55, of Ridgewood, NY, a 47-year-old woman passenger and a 19-year-old male passenger were ejected from the van.

While Batista died from his injuries, the woman and teen sustained serious injuries. Diaz and the remaining passengers suffered minor injuries, police said.
The right and centre lanes of I-295 were closed for about five hours after the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
