4 Unlocked Vehicles Burglarized In 1 Night In Princeton

All four vehicles were parked in a Princeton driveway and left unlocked, police report.

PRINCETON, NJ — Four unlocked vehicles were burglarized overnight from Dec. 10 to Dec. 11 in Princeton, according to the Princeton Police blotter.

On Dec. 11 at 12:11 p.m.: A 200 block of Winant Road resident reports that on Dec. 10 at about 11:30 p.m., he parked his black 2018 Lexus, in his driveway overnight. On Dec. 11 at about 6:30 a.m., he went outside and discovered the contents of his vehicle were rummaged through and that two pairs of his glasses and a vial containing $5 in quarters was missing. The total value of the stolen items was $250. The vehicle was unlocked.

On Dec. 12 at 1:12 p.m.: A Lafayette Road West resident reports that on Dec. 10 at 9 p.m. she parked her silver 2013 BMW X3 overnight in her driveway. Then on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. she discovered the vehicle's glove box and center console were rummaged through. The victim reports the vehicle was unlocked but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

On Dec. 11 at 8:55 a.m.: A Farrand Road resident reports he and his wife's vehicles were burglarized while parked in the driveway of their residence. The vehicles were unlocked and parked in the driveway between 5 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 11. Various electronic items were stolen valued at $1,025.

On Dec. 12 at 10:50 a.m.: A Lambert Drive resident reports she was the victim of a phone scam. The suspect deposited money into her bank account for an alleged refund they offered her. The suspect then requested the victim send the extra money back to them via iTunes gift cards. An investigation revealed the suspect gained access to the victim’s bank account and transferred money from her own savings account into her checking account, making it look like they had deposited a refund into her account. The victim did not have any financial loss as a result of the incident.
