70-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Car In Princeton Friday

PRINCETON, NJ – A 70-year-old Ewing resident died after he was struck by a Kia Forte on Mercer Road in Princeton Friday morning, police said.

On Friday at 10:38 a.m., Linda Simmins, 73, of Lawrenceville was driving south on Mercer Road when she struck Salvatore Esposito-Dimarcant, authorities said.

According to a preliminary investigation, Esposito-Dimarcant was standing in the southbound lane of Mercer Road, performing landscaping work when he was struck, police said.

Esposito-Dimarcant was taken to the Bristol Myer Squibb Trauma Center at Capital Health Regional where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
