Accused Bank Robber To Remain In Jail Pending Court: Report

James Smith waived his right to a pretrial detention hearing on Monday, according to nj.com.

A Mercer County man who was arrested in a Burlington County hotel room in connection with a bank robbery will remain in jail while his case is resolved.

James Smith, 22, of Hamilton Township, is charged with robbery in connection with an attempted robbery at a bank branch on the 300 block of Hamilton Avenue in Trenton on Halloween.

On Monday, he waived his right to a pretrial detention hearing, according to nj.com.

He has been in jail since he was arrested without incident by a team from the Mercer County Sheriff s Office and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force on Nov. 2.
