Ansell Grimm & Aaron Welcomes Attorney Craig D. Gottilla

Real estate and insurance attorney joins New Jersey practice to focus on community association law

Ansell Grimm & Aaron is pleased to announce that attorney Craig D. Gottilla has joined the firm as a partner in its Community Association Practice Group. Based out of the firm’s Princeton, New Jersey office, Gottilla focuses his practice on representing condominiums, community associations, cooperatives and homeowners’ associations.

Gottilla counsels community associations on a wide range of legal matters, including collections, construction defect litigation, delinquent assessments and common charges, the drafting and negotiation of service contracts, fair housing compliance, governance, municipal services and relations, restrictive covenant enforcement and interpretation, rules and regulations, transition negotiations with developers and/or sponsors, and the fiduciary duties of board members.

With a deep background in real estate litigation, commercial litigation, and insurance disputes, Gottilla has extensive experience litigating in federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York. Since 2018 Gottilla has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America© for his work in Real Estate Litigation. He is a member of the Insurance Council of New Jersey, the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations, the Middlesex County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, as well as the Haydn Proctor American Inn of Court. In 2019, he was appointed by the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders to a 5-year term on the Camden County Ethics Board, which focuses on ethics in government.

Before joining Ansell Grimm & Aaron, Gottilla practiced at Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP in New Brunswick. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania; before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Gottilla received his bachelor’s degree from Marist College and his law degree from Rutgers University School of Law. He lives in New Jersey.
