'Bans Off Our Bodies': Rally For Abortion Rights In Princeton Saturday

PRINCETON, NJ — A rally for women's reproductive rights will be held in Princeton on Saturday, as the U.S. Supreme Court prepares to possibly strike down Roe v. Wade, the landmark ruling that made abortion legal in all 50 states.

Advocates from Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey plan to hold a "Bans Off Our Bodies Rally" on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at Hinds Plaza, 65 Witherspoon Street.

"Politico published a leaked draft Supreme Court majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization that explicitly overturns Roe v. Wade. This outcome is as dangerous as it is unprecedented, and will open the floodgates for states across the country to ban abortion. The court, which is now dominated by justices hostile to our freedoms, has failed this country. We are devastated, we are furious, and we will continue to fight like hell to protect the right to access safe, legal abortion," advocates said in a message on the website.

Politico recently obtained a leaked draft majority opinion from the Supreme Court, indicating five justices will overturn Roe (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992). Read More: Roe V. Wade Will Be Struck Down, Politico Reports, Citing Leaked Draft

Chief Justice John Roberts went on to confirm that the opinion is authentic.

Planned Parenthood Action Fund's "Bans Off Our Bodies Rally" is part of the organization's "day of action" with similar rallies being held across other NJ towns and the country.
