Board Of Education, Historic Preservation: Princeton This Week

PRINCETON, NJ — Hello, neighbors. welcome to another edition of Monday manual, where we tell you what's happening in town this week:

Board Of Education:

Ousted Princeton High School Principal Frank Chmiel will have the opportunity to challenge his dismissal at an opening hearing on Monday.

The Donaldson hearing will take place next Monday at 6 p.m. at the Princeton Middle School cafeteria. The proceedings will also be live-streamed on PPS' YouTube channel. The public comment section will begin at 6 p.m. and the hearing will start at 7 p.m. To read more about the Donaldson hearing, click here.

Historic Preservation Commission

The Municipality's Historic preservation Commission will be meeting virtually Monday at 4 p.m. Click here for agenda.

Brush Collection

The Department of Public Works will collect brush from Section 1 beginning Monday. Residents should place brush piles at the curb or pavement edge no later than 7 am on Monday morning. Piles with mixed materials will not be collected. Keep branches and/or logs smaller than 6” in diameter and 4’ in length.

The most environmentally efficient way to manage yard waste is to compost, mulch, and/or rake it into unobtrusive areas on the property to return nutrients to plant life, the Princeton Environmental Commission advises.

Construction

Earle Asphalt Co. will complete concrete/paver sidewalk reconstruction on the west side of Witherspoon Street between Paul Robeson Place and Green Street. They will also complete curb and sidewalk reconstruction on Spring Street.

On Tuesday, Pipe Craft will be on Witherspoon Street with a crane to remove and replace cooling towers on the roof of the Princeton Library.

On Wednesday, Earle will mill Witherspoon Street between Spring Street and Green Street in preparation for paving. Work will happen overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Earle will pave Witherspoon Street between Spring Street and Green Street on Thursday. Work will happen overnight beginning 9 p.m.

Witherspoon Street will be re-striped between Spring Street and Green Street on Friday.
