Community Health Law Project to Honor Cory Storch With Ann Klein

Cory Storch, president and CEO, Bridgeway Rehabilitation Services receives the Ann Klein Advocate Award from Community Health Law Project.

Cory Storch, President and CEO, Bridgeway Rehabilitation Services, Inc., will be honored with a prestigious Ann Klein Advocate Award from the Community Health Law Project, an advocate and legal services organization for persons with disabilities in New Jersey. The award will be presented at a ceremony on October 25, 2018 at The Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange, N.J.

Established in 1988, the award honors Ann Klein, former Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services, who was instrumental in establishing a community-based system of care for people with mental and physical disabilities.

Storch joins an exclusive group of giants in the field of psychiatric rehabilitation and human services who have been honored with this award, including Gary S. Horan, President & CEO, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, and Joe Young, Executive Director, Disability Rights New Jersey.

“I am honored to receive the Ann Klein Advocate Award for my work at Bridgeway,” said Storch. “My job at Bridgeway became my life’s mission, to help people get beyond hopelessness, the first step to recovery from mental illness. You need hope in order to want help for a better life.”

For 40 years, Storch has advocated for the recoverable lives of people with mental health conditions, many who also struggle with co-occurring addictions, poverty and homelessness. Under his leadership, Storch led Bridgeway from a primarily vocational organization serving fewer than 200 people in Union County in 1968, to a leading psychiatric rehabilitation provider serving more than 5,000 people annually in central and northern N.J. Bridgeway now provides comprehensive programs that include Assertive community Treatment, Supported Education and Supported Employment; homeless outreach and supportive housing; jail diversion; crisis intervention; intensive in-home and in-community case management; integrated mental health and primary health care; and psychiatric emergency screening performed in innovative crisis living room settings.
