The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:
PRINCETON, NJ — On Feb. 24, at 10:15 a.m., following an investigation for a single-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road and Ewing Street, the driver was found to be Driving While Intoxicated. The Princeton resident was placed under arrest and taken to police headquarters, where she was processed. At headquarters, the 29-year-old refused to provide proper samples of her breath for testing. After the completion of her arrest processing, the woman was subsequently released to a sober adult. She was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to chemical testing, reckless driving, failure to keep right, and driving with a suspended DL/Registration.
On Feb. 24, at 2:19 p.m., patrols responded to a residence on Moran Avenue for a reported theft by deception. A woman told police that she received a pop-up on her computer claiming it was compromised and was instructed to call a phone number. The woman then spoke with individuals who claimed to be affiliated with Microsoft and the U.S. Department of the Treasury and was told she was under investigation. The woman provided her banking information and was instructed to wire approximately $36,500 to an out-of-state account. She did not complete the transfer and contacted the police after realizing it was a scam. Her bank accounts were frozen, and no financial loss was reported. The investigation is ongoing.

On Feb. 24, at 10:11 a.m., patrols responded to a home on Herrontown Road for a reported past tense package theft. The resident reported that a FedEx-delivered Amazon package containing a TV stand, valued at approximately $65.99, was delivered to the building’s secured package room on Feb. 16 but was later found to be missing. No suspects have been identified at this time. Over the past three months, police has been investigated five additional package thefts reported at this same location. The investigation is ongoing.
On Feb. 25, a woman, who holds power of attorney for her sister, told police that she discovered numerous unauthorized transactions on her sister’s PNC access card linked to a Home Equity Line of Credit. The fraudulent transactions occurred between Feb. 27, 2025 and Feb. 06, 2026 and totaled $1,014.88. The charges included various online merchants and retail vendors. The woman who reported the incident to police also notified PNC Bank, which closed the line of credit to prevent further activity.

On Feb. 25, at 6:07 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Hartley Avenue for a reported past-tense theft. The man told police that between 5 a.m. and 5:10 a.m., an unknown person stole his black Garmin Forerunner 55 satellite watch, valued at approximately $200, from the front porch of his home. The man said he placed the watch on the porch to obtain a satellite signal prior to a morning run and discovered it missing when he returned outside a short time later. There are no known suspects at this time.
On Feb. 28, at 11:35 p.m. following a motor vehicle crash investigation that occurred at the intersection of Bayard Lane and Nassau Street, the driver was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. The Princeton resident was taken to police headquarters, where she was processed. After the completion of her arrest processing, she was released to a sober adult. The 42-year-old was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, failure to report an accident, and improper left turn at a controlled intersection.
On March 2, at 5:31 p.m., a woman reported a past-tense package theft at an apartment complex on Terhune Road. The woman told police that an Amazon package delivered on Feb. 20 had been opened in the building’s mail area. When she checked the package room on Feb. 22, she located the curtains and curtain rod from the order left on a shelf; however, a pink AirPods case was missing. No suspects have been identified at this time.
