Forgery, Theft, DUI: Princeton Police Blotter

A resident told police a check was stolen/altered and cashed. Her employer suffered a loss of $13,041.

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton police blotter, dated Wednesday, Dec. 28, contained the following reports:

On Dec. 19 at 11 p.m., police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Witherspoon Street. A 43-year-old Skillman man was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. Additional Details He was speeding and failed to keep right, police said. The man was taken to police headquarters, processed, charged and released.

On Dec. 21 at 2:16 p.m., A resident of Great Road reported that a check she had mailed on behalf of the school she is employed at, was stolen/altered and cashed. The school suffered a monetary loss of $13,041, police said. The Detective Bureau is investigating.

On Dec. 23, a resident told police that he had emailed a check to the IRS in 2021 which was stolen/altered and cashed, resulting in a monetary loss of $10,000. The Detective Bureau is investigating

On Dec. 25 at 10:03 p.m. police received reports of an erratic driver on Nassau Street. A 65-year-old Princeton man was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. He was taken to police headquarters, processed, charged and later released to a sober friend.
