Former Princeton University Kicker Who Escaped Hungarian Revolution to be Honored

Charlie Gogolak will be honored along with his brother on Dec. 8.

Former Princeton University kicker Charlie Gogolak has been named a co-recipient of the 2015 NFF Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award, along with his brother and former Cornell kicker Pete Gogolak, according to the University.

The brothers, who escaped the Hungarian Revolution, will be honored at the 58th NFF Annual Awards Dinner on Dec. 8.

Charlie Gogolak, who never kicked a field goal before arriving at Princeton, was named First Team All-Ivy League in 1964 and 1965, and was a First Team All-American in 1965. He was 89-for-94 on PATs in his career, including 50 consecutive. He broke his brother’s record.
