Governor, First Lady To Host Holiday Open Houses At Drumthwacket Princeton

Six garden clubs from across New Jersey have decorated the official residence of the Governor in Princeton. The tours will be self-guided.

PRINCETON, NJ - The official residence of the NJ Governor in Princeton will be open to residents for the holidays.

Gov. Phil Murphy and First Lady Tammy Murphy will be hosting holiday open houses at Drumthwacket in Princeton.

Six garden clubs from across New Jersey, have decorated each room on the public first floor of the residence using fresh arrangements and greenery to complement the architecture and decor of the historical property.

“Phil and I are happy to welcome thousands of New Jersey residents to what we like to call the People’s House for the holiday season,” Tammy Murphy said in a media release.

“The six fabulous garden clubs from across the state, along with the Drumthwacket Foundation, have done an amazing job this year in creating a magical winter wonderland at our historical Drumthwacket!”

The tours will be self-guided with several docents stationed throughout the residence to answer questions and provide historical information about the property.

The open house tours will begin on Dec.3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Sunday, Dec. 4
  • Monday, Dec. 5
  • Thursday, Dec. 8
  • Monday, Dec. 12
  • Thursday, Dec. 22

Reservations are required; admission and on-site parking are free of charge.
