Lisa McCormick is challenging Bonnie Watson Coleman for the Democratic nomination for Congress, but the progressive champion who earned four out of ten Democratic votes in her 2018 primary challenge to Senator Bob Menendez is throwing her weight behind a recall effort that is targeting Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora.

“All politics is local,” McCormick said. “Bonnie Watson Coleman and Reed Gusciora are both part of the same corrupt political establishment that has failed to defend Democratic Party principles, American values and common sense. They are in this for money and power to divide the wealth earned by ordinary middle class Americans but they betrayed our trust.”

“Does your congressman show up for work? Senator Cory Booker missed more votes last year than any other member of Congress,” said McCormick. “Obviously, he deserves to get fired by voters but Bonnie Watson Coleman and Reed Gusciora are backing the absentee lawmaker over a far superior civil rights leader named Larry Hamm, who is Booker’s Democratic primary challenger. The solidarity among political insiders is as evil and blind as the Blue Wall of Silence that protects errant police officers.”

“Bonnie Watson Coleman and Reed Gusciora are party hacks pretending to be progressives,” said McCormick, who has been building support in the capital city, long considered the incumbent’s base. “They supported another senator who was indicted by the Obama administration, they did not endorse Bernie Sanders even though they claim to support his policies, and they have demonstrated absolute loyalty to corrupt power brokers.”

“In the last two months, 40 million Americans have lost their jobs and another 100,000 have lost their lives,” said McCormick. “Bonnie Watson Coleman and Reed Gusciora deserve to get fired as much as Donald Trump and Cory Booker.”

“Trenton, Fire Mayor Gusciora! Sign here to endorse the recall of Trenton Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, by applying your digital signature to the recall petition at lisamccormick.org/recall,” McCormick said.

McCormick said she will help advance the petition drive using her team of volunteer canvassers and digital technology, as well as research and targeting talent.
