Locked Princeton Home Burglarized While Resident Slept

Another attempted burglary was reported 3 days later where the residents heard someone trying to break in during the middle of the night.

PRINCETON, NJ — One home burglary and another attempted burglary occurred within four days in Princeton while residents were inside sleeping, police report.

On Friday, Jan. 25 between midnight and 7:30 a.m., a North Road resident said someone entered their locked home while they were inside and stole various items.

Some of the stolen items were found lying on the ground and emptied outside of the home, Princeton Police reported.

The second incident occurred on Monday, Jan. 28 at 2:19 a.m. where Christopher Drive residents reported hearing someone trying to break into their home.

When police arrived they found fresh pry marks at the back door. However, a dead bolt prevented anyone from getting inside the home, police reported.

Other Princeton Police blotter items:

On Jan. 25 at 10:03 a.m.: On Jan. 17 A Brooks Bend resident reported that an unknown actor forwarded their mail to an address without their permission. The victim also had numerous unauthorized credit card accounts opened in their name.

On Jan. 25 at 6:58 p.m.: A 200 block of Nassau Street resident reported that an unknown person opened a credit card in their name and charged $958.08 to the unauthorized account.

On Jan. 26 at 10:17 p.m.: A Littlebrook Road resident reported theft of property from her home including checks and cash.

On Jan. 27 at 2:48 p.m.: Cornelius Toma, Jr. was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Toma also had an outstanding warrant and was ultimately lodged at Mercer County Corrections Center.
