Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Injuries In Mercer County Crash

Xavier Zayas, 39, of Hamilton was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical center with serious injuries, police said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after crashing into an SUV in Hamilton Township on Tuesday, police said.

On Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 12 p.m., a 2004 Suzuki GSX motorcycle operated by Xavier Zayas, 39, of Hamilton was traveling west on South Broad Street. Zayas attempted to pass a 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander on the right, as the SUV was making a right turn on Gropp Avenue.

The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the SUV and veered off the road into a grove of trees, police said.

Zayas was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical center with serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the SUV, Marta Ortiz, 70, of Hamilton, refused medical assistance at the scene, said police.
