Old Post Office in Princeton to Remain Open Until November While Work Continues on New Location

The post office is moving to the site of the old West Coast Video, next to the new 7-11.

The Post Office in Palmer Square will remain open until early November while work continues on the parking lot at its new location, Planet Princeton reports.

The new Post Office will be located at the site of the former West Coast Video, adjacent to the new 7-11, according to the report.

The sale of the old building to LCOR Ventures has still not been finalized, but it will either become a retail business or a restaurant, according to the report. No tenant has been selected.

The sale was up in the air while Princeton Council said it needed more information on LCOR’s intentions for the building.

The Postal Service is set to give the town $10,000 for new easements, as well as the continuance of old ones that have been in existence for about 83 years. That would not be the case once the Post Office building is sold. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

LCOR Ventures, based in Oakland, California, can still pull out of the deal.

Council is set to vote at its next meeting on an ordinance that would grant easements to the property.
