Princeton Day School Shuts Down After Additional COVID Cases
School also cancels remote learning as the sudden decision left many teachers and students without necessary materials.
PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Day School (PDS) temporarily closed it campus on Wednesday after additional COVID-positive cases were reported. No remote classes will be held either owning to the suddenness of the decision.
On Tuesday, Patch reported that the entire 8th grade in PDS went remote after three people tested positive for COVID.

Later in the evening, PDS got to know of numerous COVID positive cases, including staff, faculty and students, forcing them to shut the campus temporarily on Wednesday.
In a message to the school community, School Head Paul J Stellato said the decision to close the campus was taken out of “an abundance of caution... to help mitigate the spread of COVID cases in our school and community.”

“Due to the timing of this notification and the possibility that teachers and students are without their materials... we have made the decision to close school instead of holding remote classes,” Stellato said in his email to the school community.
Currently, contact tracing is being done to determine who was in close contact with the affected individuals.
Information on whether classes will take place on Thursday will be communicated later on Wednesday, said Stellato.
