Princeton High School Football Team Drops in Power Points Standings Despite Win
Princeton is tied for fourth with Middletown South in Central Jersey Group IV, according to standings posted on nj.com.

Despite improving to 5-0 last Friday night, the Princeton High School football team fell a few spots in this week’s Central Jersey Group IV power points standings, posted Monday on nj.com.
Princeton (5-0, 58 points) is tied for fourth place, behind two teams with one loss and tied with another.
Brick Township (4-1, 72 points) maintained first place, followed by Jackson Memorial (4-1, 66 points) and Freehold Borough (5-0, 65 points). Princeton is tied with Middletown South (4-1, 58 points).

Princeton and Middletown South are one point ahead of Burlington Township (4-1, 57 points). Jackson Liberty (3-2, 40 points) and West Windsor-Plainsboro North (3-2, 39 points) round out the top eight.
Power points are calculated based on the size of the schools a team has defeated, and the number of wins that team has.

Thus far, Princeton has defeated Hamilton West (Group 3, 1-3), Ewing (Group III, 2-3), Hightstown (Group IV, 2-3), Lawrence (2-2, Group III) and Steinert (0-5, Group IV).
The top eight teams in each group after the first eight games of the season qualify for the playoffs. Only a team’s seven best wins of their first eight games count toward qualifying for the playoffs.
