Princeton Local Among 3 Arrested For DWI

PRINCETON, NJ — A Princeton local was among three to be arrested for driving while intoxicated in the town, according to the police blotter.

On Dec. 1 at 11:35 p.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Armour Road for failure to maintain a lane, Steven Gecha, 64, of Princeton was arrested for driving while intoxicated and possession of controlled dangerous substance(CDS). He was taken to police headquarters where he was processed, issued several motor vehicle summonses and a complaint summons with a pending court date and released to a sober adult.

On Dec. 3 at 12:28 a.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the 400 block of Nassau Street for failure to maintain a lane, Jose Gonzalez-Noyola, 34, of New Brunswick was arrested for driving while intoxicated, hindering arrest, suspended driver's licence and a $1,500 warrant out of New Brunswick Municipal Court. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed, issued several motor vehicle summonses and complaint summonses with a pending court date, released to a sober adult.

On Dec. 8 at 12:54 a.m.: [Name Withheld], 30, of Pennington was arrested for driving while intoxicated as a result of a motor vehicle stop on Kingston Road. [Name Withheld] was processed at police headquarters and released to a sober adult.

Other Princeton Police blotter items:

On Dec. 4 at 4:11 p.m.: A South Stanworth victim reported being scammed through email by an unknown actor into purchasing $1,500 in iTunes gift cards and forwarding the redemption codes to the actor.

On Dec. 8 at 3:41 a.m.: Tawana Shirley, 30, of Trenton was arrested on a Princeton Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $275. Shirley was processed, posted bail in the full amount and released.

On Dec. 2 at 12:54 p.m.: A victim walked into police headquarters to report that her purse containing her check book and cash was stolen from Princeton Garden Theater on Dec. 1. The victim said that she accidentally left her purse under her theater seat after the movie was over at noon. When she returned at 4 p.m. to look for it, it was gone. The total value of the loss is $318.

On Dec. 1 at 1:48 p.m.: Patrols responded to 300 Elm Rd. for the report of forgery and theft. Upon arrival, patrols spoke to the victim, who advised sometime between Oct. 1 and Oct. 4 one personal check was stolen from his checkbook and cashed in the amount of $2,000 on Nov. 21.

On Dec. 1 at 4:25 p.m.: Patrols responded to Panera Bread for the report of a theft. Upon arrival, patrols met with the victim, who advised her daughter’s phone had been taken from within the establishment sometime between 3 and 3:30 p.m. by an unknown perpetrator. Total value of loss is $650.

On Nov. 29 at 10:37 a.m.: A victim came to headquarters and reported that on Nov. 28 between approximately 3 and 4 p.m., her cell phone was stolen while she was at St. Paul’s Church. The phone is a Motorola Moto G cellphone valued at $180.

On Nov. 29 at 1:19 p.m.: A victim reported their wallet may have been left in Wawa on Alexander Street on Nov. 18. Upon checking, it had not been turned into management. The wallet contained $80 and various licenses and credit cards.

On Nov. 28 at 12:40 a.m.: Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Prospect Avenue for an illegal U-turn, Julio Azogue-Pilco, 27, of Trenton was arrested for having an active ATS warrant out of Montgomery Township Municipal Court in the amount of $550. He was taken to Princeton Police Department headquarters where he was processed, issued a summons with a pending court date and turned over to Montgomery Township Police.
