Rita's Italian Ice Shop To Open In Princeton Wednesday
Jeffrey Antell and his family are opening their Rita's franchise to offer some sweet treats amid the coronavirus.
PRINCETON, NJ — Jeffrey Antell and his family will be opening their Rita's Italian Ice Shop in the Princeton Shopping Center on Wednesday.
"As a walk up shop, we feel fortunate that we are able to open and operate safely (following state, local and corporate guidelines) to provide a little ice, custard and happiness to our guests during these challenging time. My family and I look forward to meeting the community at the store in the near future!" Antell said.
The new Rita's franchise at 301 N Harrison St. where the McCaffrey's Food Market is located will officially open for business at noon.

The store will be open daily from noon to 8 p.m. and Antell will look to expand those hours once it is deemed safe to do so.
Although outdoor benches and tables will be closed to ensure social distance, the shop's windows will be open to serve Rita’s treats to the Princeton community.

Antell and his wife Jaime have been longtime residents of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They currently live in Newtown. They have three children — Ben age 19, Chase age 7 and Taylor age 5, who Antell says are "all future employees."
