Route 206 To Close For 1 Week In Princeton Beginning Thursday

The closure of Route 206 in Princeton for emergency bridge repair work has been postponed to now begin on Thursday, Nov. 15.

PRINCETON, NJ — The closure of Route 206 in Princeton for emergency bridge repair work has been postponed to now begin on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The State's contractor, Marbro Inc., has already begun performing minor construction activities on Route 206 over a Branch of Stony Brook between Hillside Avenue and Arreton Road.

This project provides for a complete replacement of the existing culvert (bridge) and roadway repairs.

Beginning on Thursday, Route 206 will be closed for about one week. A local car detour and a separate truck detour have been established. Access will be maintained for all local residents and businesses during the road closure.

Passenger vehicle detour:

  • Rt 206 northbound, make a right onto Ewing St., turn left onto Mt. Lucas Rd and turn left onto Herrontown, follow to Rt 206.

Truck Detour:

  • From Rt 206 north take I-295 north to Rt 31 north, turn right on County Road 518, follow to Rt 206
  • From Rt 206 south, turn right on County Road 518, turn left on Rt 31 south and take to Rt I-295 south back to Rt 206
