UPDATE: Princeton Police Investigating Recent Threats
The most recent threat resulted in a Shelter in Place situation at Princeton High School on Thursday.

Princeton Police believe recent threats issued to numerous schools over the past few weeks are part of a larger group of threats being issued across the state and the country.
Police issued a statement Thursday afternoon following a threat to Princeton High School that resulted in a Shelter in Place situation earlier in the day.
The school received a a generalized threat over the phone at 9:37 a.m. In addition to the Shelter in Place, police increased their presence at the high school and schools throughout the municipality.

Princeton wasn’t the only school to receive a threat on Thursday.
There was a Shelter in Place at William R. Satz School and Holmdel High School on Thursday, after school officials in Holmdel received a suspicious call for the second time this week.

“We believe that all of our incidents are connected to each other as well as connected to the other state and national investigations,” Princeton Police said. “We are currently coordinating investigative efforts to determine the source of the threats with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies including the Office of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New Jersey State Police. We are also working closely with our local educational partners to maintain a safe and secure environment for our students and faculty.”
Johnson Park Elementary School received a pre-recorded threat Tuesday morning.
A home on Jefferson Road also received a similar threat on Tuesday night.
Each threat received a full police response and subsequent investigation. Each threat was unfounded, and deemed to be a hoax.
“We will continue to communicate any future incidents through our alert systems and the media,” police said. “We ask all community members to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately by dialing 9-1-1.”
