The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ — On March 10, a man reported to police headquarters that he was the victim of identity theft and credit card fraud. He said that between Dec. 4, 2025, and Feb. 11, 2026, three unauthorized transactions were made on his Bank of America credit cards totaling $9,822.67. At this time, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.

On March 11, police responded to a home on Nassau Street for a report of identity theft and fraud. The complainant reported that a check issued by her employer for $4,785.93, originally mailed on Oct. 19, 2025, was intercepted in transit and altered. The check, which was intended for a university foundation in California, was fraudulently changed to a different payee and deposited at a financial institution in Virginia. The investigation is ongoing.

On March 11, police responded to a home on Lytle Street for a report of a past tense theft. The complainant reported that multiple items were stolen from the rear of the property between March 9 and March 11, 2026. The investigation revealed that the items had been placed in the backyard during renovation work and were discovered missing upon the complainant’s return.

  • Dishwasher (approx. $150)
  • Callaway golf bag with clubs (approx. $150)
  • Ten stainless steel serving pots (approx. $30)
  • Approximately one ton of scrap light iron (approx. $500)
  • Five stainless steel cabinets (approx. $40)
  • Aluminum ladder (approx. $40)
  • Total estimated loss: $920.00.

The investigation is ongoing.

On March 13, police responded to an apartment complex on Herrontown Road for a report of a past tense package theft. The victim reported that a delivery containing clothing and miscellaneous items was left outside a main entrance on March 6 and was discovered missing the following day. The items, valued between $200 and $300, were believed to have been stolen sometime after delivery. At this time, there are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.

On March 15, police responded to a residence on Stanworth Lane for a report of identity theft and fraud. A woman reported that an unknown person gained unauthorized access to her email account and used her personal and financial information to enroll in various online services and make fraudulent purchases. The victim discovered multiple unauthorized transactions on her bank account totaling over $2,100. While most of the charges were reimbursed by her bank, she sustained a remaining loss of $586.43. One of the purchases was reportedly picked up in person at a local retail store. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects have been identified.

On March 15, police responded to the area of Spring Street for a report of a past tense bicycle theft. A woman reported that her bicycle, which had been secured to a rack outside a local business, was stolen sometime between March 9-15. The stolen bicycle is described as a dark blue Giant Boulder 500 with silver and orange lettering and a Selle Royal seat. A U-lock securing the bicycle was also taken. The total estimated loss is $120.
