The event will give parents the opportunity to chat with the administrators, supervisors, teachers, and students who are staffing tables highlighting PPS programs. The first-ever State of the District event is also expected to include an unveiling of the new PPS Strategic Plan.

Although Kelley has not revealed much about the school district’s strategic plan, highlights were presented at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday.

Having a dynamic Strategic Plan puts the district in a better position to move forward with a set of ambitious goals over the next five years, Kelley said.

“There is much work to be done, but now with a solid framework it is easier for our educators, parents and community members to see where we are going and how we can improve,” Kelley said.

"I hope our parents and community will help us celebrate on Monday, February 27."
