Traffic, Road Closures, Construction Update: Princeton This Week

Here's what to expect when you hit the road in Princeton this week:

PRINCETON, NJ - On Monday, work will continue on the installation of stormwater inlets and pipe on the east side of Witherspoon Street between Nassau Street and Spring Street.

On or about Thursday, the concrete barriers will be relocated to close the west side of Witherspoon Street to begin demolition and construction of the sidewalk and roadway.

Construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m, which is subject to change due to inclement weather or project delays.

Traffic and Parking

  • Witherspoon Street is open to traffic traveling northbound. Stopping, Standing or Loading is not allowed in the travel lane. Parking is not available between Nassau Street and Spring Street during construction.
  • Hulfish Street, Palmer Square, Hulfish Parking Garage and the Griggs Corner Lot will be open and accessible.
  • Residents and visitors should utilize the parking garages as on-street parking will become increasingly limited as construction progresses.
  • A new temporary loading zone was installed on Witherspoon Street between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place / Wiggins Street, along the curb at Hinds Plaza and the public library.
