Witherspoon Street Construction & Traffic Update In Princeton

With ongoing construction work on Witherspoon Street, here are the roads to avoid this week:

PRINCETON, NJ — Witherspoon Street construction is on and there's much happening with traffic in the area.

For the entire week, construction activity will continue northbound on Witherspoon, as Earle Asphalt Co. will resume sanitary sewer main installation between Hulfish Street and Paul Robeson Place, according to the department of engineering.

The trench for the sanitary sewer main will be protected with roadway plates at the end of each workday. The contractor will backfill and pave the trench on Friday.

On Tuesday, Crown Castle will be onsite moving utility conduits. They will be using the same work zone as Earle Asphalt Co.

Drivers should avoid the area and follow detour signs. Construction hours are usually from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.However, this schedule is subject to change due to weather or project delays and will be updated accordingly via this newsletter.

Traffic will be closed southbound on Witherspoon Street between Hulfish and Paul Robeson Place, from 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Hulfish Street will be open to traffic as well as Palmer Square, Hulfish Parking Garage, and the Griggs Corner Lot.
