
Alumni, faculty and supporters were honored for their service to students and the community as Don Bosco Prep held its Twelfth Annual President's Gala at The Venetian in Garfield, N.J. Proceeds from the event benefits the school's educational programs and students.
"For almost 100 years, Don Bosco Prep has prepared young men for life following St. John Bosco's educational philosophy of reason, religion, kindness and joyful optimism," said Fr. James Heuser, Director and President of Don Bosco Prep. "The individuals we are honoring this year are shining examples to our students, and to our community, of how dedicating our intellectual, physical and artistic talents in the service of others can make an extraordinary difference in the world."
Fr. Heuser personally recognized each of the evening's community honorees: Dr. Gregory E. Rauscher, MD, PA, FACS, a 1964 graduate of Don Bosco Prep and renowned reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center, who received the President's Award; Rev. Robert Stagg, Pastor of the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, N.J., winner of the Community Service Award; and Judy Lawlor of Elmwood Park, N.J., a member of the Don Bosco Prep Guidance Staff and recipient of the Distinguished Salesian Educator Award.
In addition, four alumni were formally inducted into the prestigious Don Bosco Prep Hall of Fame, in recognition of their significant contributions to their professions and communities. The 2013 inductees are: Joseph T. Scott of Alpine, N.J., Class of 1968, principal of Mayrich Construction and Preferred Freezer Services, New York, N.Y.; Christopher E. Tolomeo of East Aurora, N.Y., Class of 1980, a Senior Vice President at M&T Bank, Albany, N.Y.; Dr. Vito Modugno of Upper Saddle River, N.J., Class of 1983, owner and president of Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, PA, with locations in Hawthorne and Totowa, N.J.; and Arthur DeGaetano of Mahwah, N.J., Class of 1987, Senior Managing Member of Bramshill Investments, a Registered Investment Adviser with the United States Securities & Exchange Commission, located in Hackensack, N.J.

Don Bosco Prep, founded in 1915, is a private, Catholic, college preparatory high school for young men, grades 9 through 12. Administered by the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco, a religious order of priests and brothers, Don Bosco Prep offers rigorous academics at the AP, honors and college preparatory levels. Broad offerings are also provided in extracurricular activities, clubs and athletics. The 900 students attending Don Bosco Prep represent over 150 towns throughout the metropolitan area. The Don Bosco Prep campus is located on 35 acres in Ramsey, N.J. The school will be celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2015.
