Curriculum Designed To Be Effective For Children

Our kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu curriculum is designed by Chris Ulbricht, owner and head instructor at Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. Chris has selected the most important and competition tested techniques to include for children who want to learn BJJ. These techniques are based on leverage, speed, and technique rather than size and strength so that our students will find them to be effective in competition or self defense situations.

NJ State Licensed Teachers and Child Psychology Doctors As Instructors

Coach Chris is assisted by multiple coaches per class to ensure an optimal coach to student ratio to keep the classes safe and help our students learn as efficiently as possible. Among the GSBJJ teaching staff are a NJ State licensed teacher and child psychologist who both work in nearby Monmouth County schools. These two assistant coaches play a pivotal role in designing a program that not only teaches martial arts, but also helps develop positive social interactions, confidence, discipline, and focus.

Office Hours For Parents To Meet With Coaches Everyday

At Garden State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy we believe that teamwork between coaches, parents, and teachers are key to a child’s success. That’s why we offer a half hour of office time per day for parents to come in and speak to us about anything they need. Whether it’s scheduling a birthday party for their child or informing us about an incident at school, we are here to help!

Special Events To Build Team Camaraderie
