Kurt Ludwigsen Investigated On Possible Sexual Abuse Allegations In California Two Years Ago

Ludwigsen, 43, of Ridgewood, faces 100 counts of improper sexual contact with his players while a coach at Nyack College.

California authorities investigated former Nyack College coach Kurt Ludwigsen on improper sexual contact allegations in 2013 but never filed charges against him, The Journal News of Westchester, New York reported.

Ludwigsen, 43, of Ridgewood, was charged last week with 100 counts of improper sexual contact with his players during his six-month tenure with Nyack.

Ludwigsen coached the Nor Cal Assault, a traveling softball team of girls ages 15 to 18, for a decade. A source who “didn’t witness anything first hand,” gave authorities a tip about Ludwigsen’s alleged behavior.

Petaluma police Lt. Dan Fish told The Journal News that his department contacted 12 potential victims and that five or six of them “confirmed something occurred” but didn’t want to participate in the investigation or told authorities that it “wasn’t a big thing.”

Authorites allege that Ludwigsen, a married father of two children, kissed and touched several Nyack College players’ breasts and buttocks. His alleged actions were discovered in March during a “player disciplinary situation.” He was charged with one count of sexual abuse, 44 counts of forcible touching of another’s sexual/intimate parts, and 49 counts of harassment.
