Ridgewood Man Wants Sexual Abuse Case Dismissed: Report
Kurt Ludwigsen asks judge to dismiss the 197 counts filed against him. He allegedly improperly touched college softball players he coached.

A Ridgewood man has asked a judge to dismiss the 197 counts filed against in him a sexual abuse case, claiming the district attorney’s office prosecuting the case violated legal procedures.
Kurt Ludwigsen, 44, was indicted last month on 94 misdemeanor counts each of forcible touching and sexual abuse, seven felony counts of first-degree coercion, and two counts of harassment.
The Journal News reported that the Attorney David Goldstein said the prosecution’s grand jury notice to Ludwigsen stated that the group would only hear information regarding the misdemeanor charges. However, the report states that Executive Assistant District Attorney Richard Kennison Moran presented the felony coercion counts for grand jury to consider.

“Based on that, we say the notice was defective and violated our rights,” Goldstein told The Journal News.
Ludwigsen was arrested in April after 13 former female Nyack College softball players allege he engaged in inappropriate behavior with them from last October until March. They’re accusing him of inappropriately touching their breasts and buttocks and kissing them. He has pleaded not guilty on all counts.
