Russo said Corcoran has brought honor to his family, community, and state by running and raising money for the Code 3 for a Cure Foundation. The non-profit provides financial support to firefighters who are battling cancer.

Russo said Corcoran accomplished “something extraordinary.”

Corcoran, who joined the fire department in 2005, has been an avid runner since he was 7 years old.
