Firefighters had to use specialized tools to cut parts from the machine until the man could be disentangled, they said.

Fire Chief Jeffrey Kaplan said, "It was a complex rescue that required teamwork and coordination amongst the firefighters in the scene. It is an operation that is not common, but we do have specialized tools and training for situations just like this. The patient did not have life threatening injuries and the cause was under investigation. "
