Newspaper Delivery Man Charged With Bergen Package Thefts
'Numerous' packages were found at Brian Torres-Malaga's Paterson home. He delivers The Record to Wyckoff subscribers.

A newspaper delivery man for The Record newspaper was arrested after he allegedly stole several packages that were delivered to Wyckoff residents’ homes earlier this month, police said.
Brian Torres-Malaga, 21, of Paterson, was arrested after a Bridle Path resident reported that three packages on her front porch were stolen, said Chief Benjamin Fox.
Police investigated and watched area surveillance footage, which lead them to Torres-Malaga, who delivers copies of The Record to area subscribers with his mother, Fox said.

Torres-Malaga was in the backseat of a vehicle vehicle his mother was driving that was stopped at 6:30 a.m.Thursday and he was arrested, Fox said. The mother was not charged, but it is believed she has knowledge of the package thefts.
Detective Sgt. Joseph Soto and Lt. David Murphy found numerous packages from Torres-Malagna’s home, police said. There were no shipping labels on the packages.

Torres-Malaga was charged with third-degree theft and released on his own recognizance.
