Part Of Bergen Animal Shelter Closed After Outbreak

The outbreak is unrelated to 26 bulldogs that are being kept there in isolation. The dogs were found in a van outside a Garfield Walmart.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The dog kennels at the Bergen County Animal Shelter are closed until the end of the month due to "health issues" there — issues it said is not related to more than two dozens rescued bulldogs being there.

The kennel is caring 26 French and English bulldogs that were found inside a van at a Garfield Walmart earlier this month.

The Record reported that there was a disease outbreak at the kennel — an outbreak that was unrelated to the bulldogs being there. The bulldogs are being isolated for a few more weeks as they have not received vaccinations yet.
