Dave Portnoy Reviews North Jersey Pizzeria: See the Score

Dave Portnoy delivered his latest "One-Bite Pizza Review" to a Bergen County pizzeria. See how it scored.

WESTWOOD, NJ — Dave Portnoy, the owner of Barstool Sports who posts One-Bite Pizza Reviews, stopped into a Bergen County pizzeria this week to give it a score.

Portnoy, who had already visited the county in June to promote his new memoir, typically delivers his reviews after tasting just one bite of a fresh, hot pie.

The pizzerias benefit from the publicity, often seeing a swell of business.

This week, Portnoy stopped into Luciano's Pizzeria in Westwood, noting it's owned by the same man who owns Nicky's Firehouse restaurant.

After taking a bite, Portnoy delivered his assessment.

"Good," he said. "Thin, kind of along the lines of those New Jersey thin — not thinly-thin — but along those lines. Good pizza. I'm going to go 7.6, good quality, thin pizza. Luciano's homemade."

A 7.6 score on a scale of 1-10 places the spot in the upper half of more than a thousand pizzerias Portnoy has reviewed.

In the video, Portnoy also said that he had enjoyed food at other restaurants in Bergen County. He commented, "I may just quit this pizza tour and just get some, like, lo mein."
