RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Three people were arrested for pot possession in Ridgewood Tuesday after a "concerning" note was uncovered by the school district's administrators.

Two of the people were juveniles who were asked to leave Ridgewood High School Tuesday morning, police said.

The investigation began after 10:30 a.m., when police were told that two juveniles had been asked to leave the school after it was discovered they were not students there, said Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke.

After leaving the school, one of the juveniles sent a private message on social media to a Ridgewood High School student.

Police did not reveal the contents of the message. But the receiving student "felt it was concerning" and brought their concern to school administrators, said Luthcke.

Administrators then contacted Ridgewood police, who investigated the message. While investigating it, police found the two juveniles, who were with two adults.

Officers found one of the adults and one of the juveniles had marijuana on them and took all four to police headquarters, the chief said.
