Ramen Hot Dog With Egg Debuts At Bergen County Restaurant: See How Many Have Sold
Would you eat this? The ramen dog, with soy marinated egg and Furikake, is the dog of the month at 1950 Originals in Bergen County.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Would you eat a hot dog with soy marinated egg, scallions, and Furikake seasoning? What if it were the hot dog of the month?
In New Jersey — known for gastronomic delights such as Taylor ham/pork roll, Italian hot dogs, and sloppy Joe sandwiches — foodies are always looking for the next big thing. They just didn't realize that the answer was a ramen frankfurter.
1950s Originals, a quirky hot dog restaurant founded in Westwood last fall by Dan DeMiglio — grandson of the owner of the legendary Callahan's restaurant — has debuted perhaps the most unusual hot dog to grace a bun.

Chef Daniel Fabian introduced the "Ramen Resolution" dog at the eatery on Jan. 2, and it's only available until Jan. 31.
On social media, the eatery posted, "Treat yourself to the freshest, carefully curated ramen all the way from Brooklyn ... Picture this: Ramen swims in a comforting Chicken Broth, hugged by a mind-bogglingly rich Miso Cheese Sauce, adorned with a savory Soy Marinated Egg, fresh Scallions, and the irresistible umami punch of Furikake Seasoning."

DeMiglio told Patch that 600 of the item had been sold so far this year.
"We have families and large groups coming in for this from all over the Tri-State," he said. "Chef Danny goes to Brooklyn NY to pick up the freshly made ramen which he uses his special blend of spices to make this truly DELISH ramen that goes on top of our hotdogs."
He added, "You can select from two variations the Original Pork & Beef or the Signature 100% All Beef hotdogs as your base. That's with every single topping that we have available in the store as well. It's great having the different options especially with a huge demographic of people who do not consume pork."
You can find 1950 Originals across from the Westwood Train Station, at 325 Broadway, Westwood.
