Ridgewood Mayor Aronsohn 'May Explore' Running For Senate Seat Next Year
The seat will be available because Senator Kevin O'Toole announced Friday he would not seek re-election next year.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ - Mayor Paul Aronsohn said that he “may explore the possibility” of running to fill Kevin O’Toole’s state senate seat next year.
O’Toole, a Republican, has represented the state’s 40th Legislative District since 2008. He announced Friday that he would not seek re-election to another term next year. His current term ends in January 2018.
“Kevin has been a strong, effective Senator and a solid advocate for the people in our community,” Aronsohn said. “I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with him a on range of important issues, most notably in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, and have always been able to count on his leadership and partnership.”

Aronshon made a similar announcement earlier this month when he confirmed he would not seek re-election to the Village Council this year. His name has already come up as a potential candidate on the Democratic ticket.
