RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Ridgewood residents are invited to party like it's the end of prohibition.
One of Ridgewood's first public schools — now a museum that showcases local historic artifacts — is celebrating its 150th anniversary with a retro-themed gala set in the Roaring '20s.
The Ridgewood Historical Society and Schoolhouse Museum is hosting the gala on May 18 at Felina Restaurant in the village's historic central business district.

The society — the parent organization of the village's first and only museum — preserves the schoolhouse, and maintains and exhibits artifacts representing the history of Ridgewood.
Sponsorship contributions will aid the society in its preservation efforts, and local businesses and persons are encouraged to honor the 150th anniversary by becoming a sponsor and attending the celebration.

"Every donation helps us continue the many robust educational projects and presentations that engage people of all ages," board of trustee member Jeanne Johnson said.
Three "well-respected trustees" — Dacey Latham, Vicky Herbert and Joy Hamburger — will be recognized at the gala for their commitment to preserving the history of Ridgewood, the society said.
"They have enriched the lives of countless individuals," a release said.
Festivities will include dinner and live entertainment by the local band, "Souled Out".
