Ridgewood Leaf Collection Extended
Volume of leafs collected is 50 percent more than it was at this time last year, officials said.
Leaf collectors will spend extra time in various Ridgewood areas as a result of the increase in leaf volume this year.
Through Dec. 1, more than 31,500 cubic yards of leaves were collected, that’s more than a 50 percent increase from the 20,500 cubic yards that were collected last year through the same date, Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld announced.
As a result, leaf collectors will be spending extra time in several zones this year.

The new schedule is:
Area A: Ends Thursday

Area B: Remains the same
Area C: Friday to Dec. 17
Area D: Dec. 18 to 23
Sonenfeld said a meeting is being planned for after the holidays to discuss leaf collections. She said residents are welcome to give their feedback at the meeting.
