Ridgewood Public Schools to Have Delayed Opening Monday

The delayed opening comes after the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain, sleet and snow.

Ridgewood Public Schools will follow a two-hour delayed opening schedule on Monday, Feb. 9 due to “weather conditions” after the National Weather Service issued a ” Winter Weather Advisory” for freezing rain, sleet and snow that’s in effect from Monday at 6 a.m. to Tuesday at 6 a.m.

According to the Ridgewood Schools website, school bus schedules will operate two hours later; Morning kindergarten will be canceled and the afternoon kindergarten will follow the regular hours (12:20-3 p.m.); Children in grades 1-5 who have not ordered lunches must bring a bag lunch to school since here will not be sufficient time for children to go home for lunch.

A wintry hazardous mix of ice and some snow is expected to hit the northern Mid Atlantic states - such as New Jersey and Pennsylvania - through Monday night.

The worst could happen at 10 p.m. Monday, where almost the entire state is expected to either have snow or some wintry mix.
