Baseball and Softball Association's Opening Day Parade — 9 a.m., Glen Rock
The Glen Rock Baseball and Softball Association will hold its annual Opening Day Parade, at 9 a.m. Players and coaches should gather at 8:30 a.m. in the parking lot between Maple Avenue and Rock Road. Everyone will march down Glen Avenue to Harristown Road and eventually to the first baseball diamond at Hamilton School where a brief ceremony will take place and the first pitch will be thrown by Mayor John van Keuren.

The Home and School Association event will raise money for the school's physical education department — specifically with the goal of earning enough cash to put a rock wall in the Coleman gymnasium. Prizes up for grabs at the benefit include more than 50 raffle baskets, with prizes such as New Jersey Devils tickets, a Kuerig coffee maker, dinner packages and 1-year gym membership to Retro Fitness.

Dan Fontana, a Glen Rock resident, singer and guitarist, will perform at the Glen Rock Inn to help raise cash for Relay for Life. All tips will be donated directly to The American Cancer Society. This event is sponsored by Glen Rock Women in Community Service.
Donations for Soldiers — All Day, Various Locations
Teens Working In Community Service, a part of the Glen Rock Women in Community Service group, will be holding a collection of toiletries for military members overseas and in Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. Item collected in the past have included used DVDs, handy wipes, toothpaste, powdered drinks, stationary, large and extra-large white t-shirts, large and extra-large socks, soup, hard candy and gum. Donations can be dropped into boxes labeled "TWICS" at the Glen Rock Public Library, Glen Rock Hardware Store and Rita's Ice. Questions can be directed to 201-445-8350.

If you're the parent of a Glen Rock High School junior, this notice is for you. Planning for Grad Ball 2012 planning has begun — If you're interested in participating, please forward your email address to gradball2012@gmail.com. Don’t forget to include your child’s name. The first meeting is Tuesday, April 12, at 8 p.m. in the High School All Purpose Room. The theme selection process will begin.
