Glen Rock Shooting: Details Of Victim Released, Park Partly Closed
Shots were fired near basketball courts in Glen Rock Tuesday and one man was hit. Prosecutors have released new details.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — A park in suburban Glen Rock, N.J. remained closed Wednesday night as prosecutors continued to search for suspects in the shooting of a 23-year-old man there on Tuesday. UPDATE: The park has reopened, but not the basketball court; see details here.
Bergen County prosecutors said that around 7:34 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to an area where a 23-year-old Paterson man had been shot near the basketball courts at Wilde Memorial Park on Maple Street.
The victim was treated for a single gunshot wound at an area hospital and released, prosecutors said.

Investigators are still probing the shooting, they said Wednesday evening.
Prosecutors said that the shooting took place near where a "large crowd was gathered playing basketball."

A local high school senior said in a video on Tuesday that he heard "8 to 10" shots coming from the park. He told the media that he first heard one shot, then heard several shots suddenly ring out, as if in response to the first.
Prosecutors said Wednesday, "No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. The park remains closed to the public until further notice."
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Glen Rock Police Department request the assistance of the public in providing any photos, videos, or other pertinent information that may assist investigators.

Glen Rock Schools Superintendent Brett Charleston said in a message to parents Tuesday night that he had "limited information," but that counselors would be at all Glen Rock schools on Wednesday to offer support.
