Tougher Ridgewood Water Restrictions Remain In Effect

Residents may only use automatic sprinklers to irrigate their lawns two days a week.

Tougher water restrictions implemented earlier this summer remain in effect.

The hot weather and limited rainfall this year has led to a big increase in water use for irrigating.

The rainfall and groundwater status as monitored by the state Department of Environmental Protection has recently been downgraded from “near normal” to “moderately dry.”

Tougher water restrictions were put into effect in August.

Residents may only water their lawns using automatic sprinkler systems two days a week. Residents living at odd-numbered addresses may irrigate on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Residents living in even-numbers houses may irrigate on Wednesday and Sundays. Hand held hoses may be used at any time.
